Billing
Malanda Medical Care is a privately billing medical practice.
From 5 February 2024, we offer bulk billing services in our postcode only
to the following patients:
Age Pensioners
Commonwealth Seniors Cards
Disability Pensioners
ATSI
Children at school
Department of Veterans Affairs Gold Card Holders
We also bulk bill some chronic disease services including preparation of chronic disease care plans, review of existing care plans, preparation of mental health care plans
and some mental health consultations.
If your Medicare details are registered for online claiming, you will be able to receive your Medicare rebate at the time of billing.
Some consultations do not attract a Medicare rebate.
These include commercial drivers licence medicals, work medicals,
WorkCover consultations and travel medicine consultations.
Please check with our staff at the time of booking if you require further clarification.
Our doctors will, at all times, endeavour to discuss any extra charges or expenses with you that may be incurred at the time of consultation.
We accept payment by Visa, MasterCard, eftpos, EFT, cheque, cash .
Doctor Consultation
A variety of procedures are performed at this practice, including removal of skin lesions, insertion and removal of Implanon® and IUDS.
All of these procedures require a consultation prior to the procedure.
Our reception staff can provide an estimate of fees prior to your appointment.
Standard Consultation
$85.00
This is a 12 minute consultation.
If you are eligible,
the Medicare rebate is $41.20.
The out of pocket amount is $43.80.
Long Consultation
$130.00
This is a 25 minute consultation.
If you are eligible,
the Medicare rebate is $79.70.
The out of pocket amount is $50.30.
Prolonged Consultation
$170.00
This is a 45 minute consultation.
If you are eligible,
the Medicare rebate is $117.40.
The out of pocket amount is $52.60.
Physiotherapist
Initial Physiotherapist Consultation
$80.00
An initial 30 minute consultation with the physiotherapist will occur
to assess the issue you present with.
If you have a Team Care Arrangement, you will be
eligible for a Medicare rebate of $58.00.
The out of pocket amount is $22.00.
Physiotherapist Consultation
$75.00
This is a 30 minute consultation for ongoing treatment.
If you have a Team Care Arrangement, you will be
eligible for a Medicare rebate of $58.00.
The out of pocket amount is $17.00.
Clinical Psychologist & Social Worker

Cancellation Policy
Missed Appointment
Our goal is to provide quality health care to all our patients in a timely manner.
We understand that it is frustrating when doctors are running late.
Bearing in mind that doctors will sometimes be held up by urgent matters, we are all working together to improve our timeliness.
Our patients can all help us to manage our appointments by advising in advance if they are unable to attend an appointment.
Appointment Cancellation
If cancellation is necessary, we ask that you call at least 2 hours in advance otherwise there is a $50 fee.
Appointments are in high demand, and your advance notice will allow another patient access to that appointment time.
Late for Appointment
If you are late for your appointment, we may not be able to accommodate you.
In this case, we will do our very best to reschedule your service for another time that is convenient to you.
How to Cancel Your Appointment
If you need to cancel your appointment, please call us to cancel or respond to your SMS.
Late Cancellations or No-Show to Appointment
A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is cancelled less than 2 hours before the appointed time.
A no-show is when a patient misses an appointment without notice.
In either case, we will charge the patient a $50.00 cancellation fee.
This cancellation fee must be paid in full prior to the booking of any further appointments.
